Metro Detroit's Go-To Red Light Bed Installer

Red Light Bed Installation in Metro Detroit

A full-body red light bed is the heaviest, most power-hungry piece of wellness equipment most people will ever bring into a home or a studio. Sun Systems and Service has installed, wired and serviced light-based beds across Metro Detroit since 1990, and a red light bed is the same job: dedicated power, real weight, cooling and controls. When a homeowner in Birmingham or a studio owner in Royal Oak needs a red light bed installed right, we are the call. (248) 545-5577.

Already bought a bed online? Most red light beds arrive on a freight pallet at the curb with a manual and no installer. We take it from the driveway to the first session: inside delivery, assembly, electrical coordination, leveling and startup testing. Any brand, bought anywhere.

Why Metro Detroit calls Sun Systems for red light beds

  • Light-based equipment since 1990. Hundreds of Michigan salons have trusted us with the same ballasts, lamps, cooling systems and timers that red light beds run on. The wellness industry is new. The equipment fundamentals are not.
  • Local, on-site, 7 days a week. We are based in Metro Detroit and we show up. We are not a national showroom that ships a crate and disappears, and we are not routed through a dispatch network.
  • Electrical is our first question, not an afterthought. Most premium beds want a dedicated 220 volt circuit at 30 to 40 amps. We check the panel before the bed is ordered.
  • Finished-space installs. Birmingham and West Bloomfield homes are not warehouses. Stairs, tight turns, hardwood and stone floors, finished lower levels: clean work and careful placement.
  • One number for the life of the bed. LED arrays, lamps on lamp-based units, controllers, cooling fans, acrylics and hinges. We service what we install.

What a red light bed actually needs

The brochure shows a glowing bed in a spotless room. It does not show the 40 amp breaker, the 600 pound crate or the fans that need somewhere to push heat. Here is what we plan for on every red light bed installation.

  • Power. Lighter full-body beds run on a dedicated 120 volt, 20 amp circuit. Most commercial and premium units need a dedicated 220 volt circuit at 30 to 40 amps, hardwired by a licensed electrician. Plugging into a shared bedroom outlet is how breakers trip and control boards fail.
  • Weight and floor. Full-body beds weigh roughly 250 to 650 pounds assembled, before anyone lies down in them. We confirm the route in and the floor it lands on.
  • Space. Most beds run about 7 feet long and 3 feet wide and need clearance for the canopy to open, plus room on the operator side. Ceiling height matters for canopy swing.
  • Cooling and ventilation. Red light beds draw 1,500 to 3,000 watts on typical units and more on high-output models, and most of that becomes heat. The fans need intake and exhaust room, not a closet.
  • Controls. Timers, session programs and app connections need to be set up and tested at full output, not just powered on.

What our red light bed installation covers

  1. Site consult. The room, the route in, the panel and what you want from the bed.
  2. Equipment guidance. We help you choose a dedicated red light bed, a hybrid UV and red light unit, or an inspected used bed, or we install the one you already chose.
  3. Electrical coordination. Exact circuit spec for your model, panel capacity check, and scheduling the electrician so the circuit is ready before delivery.
  4. Inside delivery and placement. From the curb or the garage into the finished room, protected floors, careful turns.
  5. Assembly and leveling. Base, canopy, hinges and shocks, acrylics, panels and cable management.
  6. Startup testing at full output. Every array or lamp, every fan, every timer and program.
  7. Walkthrough. How to run it, how to clean it, what to watch for.
  8. Service and parts for life. The same local number, 7 days a week.

Red light bed installation in Birmingham and West Bloomfield

Oakland County's wellness-room boom runs straight through Birmingham, West Bloomfield and the Bloomfield townships, so we built dedicated pages for the two cities where red light beds are going into homes fastest: red light bed installation in Birmingham and red light bed installation in West Bloomfield. We also install red light and tanning beds in homes across Bloomfield Hills, Franklin, Grosse Pointe, Northville, Rochester Hills, Novi and Ann Arbor, and anywhere else in Metro Detroit and Michigan.

For salons, spas, gyms and studios

Red light is the upgrade clients are asking for, and it sells year-round with no seasonal dip. We install dedicated red light beds and hybrid units on salon floors, plan electrical for multiple beds, relocate equipment between locations, and source inspected used red light beds when a new one does not fit the budget. If you run a tanning salon, a med spa, a recovery studio or a gym in Metro Detroit, we are the installer who will still be here to service it. See our red light therapy equipment page for sales and service details.

What red light bed installation costs

The bed is the big number. Home full-body red light beds run roughly $4,500 to $10,000, and commercial beds run from about $15,000 to $120,000 and up for flagship units. A dedicated 220 volt circuit typically costs several hundred dollars to over a thousand depending on the distance from the panel and whether the panel needs work. Inside delivery and installation we quote up front, before anything is ordered, so there is one straight number and no surprises. Full breakdown in our red light bed installation cost guide.

Frequently asked questions

Who installs red light beds in Metro Detroit?

Sun Systems and Service. We are the Metro Detroit company that has installed and serviced light-based beds since 1990, and we install full-body red light beds, hybrid beds and red light panels in private homes, salons, spas, gyms and studios across Oakland, Macomb and Wayne County, including Birmingham and West Bloomfield. We come to you, 7 days a week.

Do I need an electrician for a red light bed?

Usually, yes. Lighter full-body red light beds run on a dedicated 120 volt, 20 amp circuit, and most commercial and premium units need a dedicated 220 volt circuit at 30 to 40 amps that is hardwired by a licensed electrician. We confirm the exact spec for your bed, check your panel before you order, and coordinate the electrical so the circuit is ready when the bed arrives.

Will you install a red light bed I bought online?

Yes. Most red light beds ship on a freight pallet to the curb with no installer. We handle inside delivery, assembly, leveling, electrical coordination, startup testing and a walkthrough of the controls, whatever brand you bought and wherever you bought it.

How long does red light bed installation take?

Once the circuit is in place, most residential red light bed installations are completed in a single visit, including inside delivery, assembly and startup testing. Electrical work is scheduled ahead of the bed so nothing sits in your garage waiting.

Can a red light bed go in a finished basement?

Yes, and finished lower levels are one of the most common places we put them. The questions are the route in (stair width, turns and ceiling height), the floor it lands on, ventilation for the cooling fans, and the distance from the electrical panel. We walk all of that before the bed is ordered.

Do you service red light beds after installation?

Yes. That is the reason to install through a service company. Power problems, controllers and timers, cooling fans, LED arrays and lamps on lamp-based units, acrylics and hinges: one local number for the life of the bed, the same one Michigan salons have called since 1990.
