Parts by Request

Tanning Bed Parts by Request

Replacement tanning bed components laid out on a workbench

Sun Systems & Service sources tanning bed parts by request. There is no catalog, no cart and no shelf of boxes. You tell us the make, the model and the part, and Stan Pope, a technician on this equipment since 1990, finds the right one. That includes beds the manufacturer stopped supporting years ago. In Michigan we install it. Anywhere else in the US we ship it after a video session so you know exactly how it goes in. Call (248) 545-5577 or send the form below.

Fastest way to get the right part: have a photo ready of the model plate and a photo of the failed part to (248) 545-5577. Add your city and what the bed is doing. Stan calls back with the part and the next step.

How parts by request works

  1. Send the request. Make, model, part and your city. Photos of the plate and the part help.
  2. We confirm the part. Stan checks it against the bed. A lot of beds share standard components, and a lot of beds do not. Getting this step right is the whole job.
  3. We quote it. One number for the part, and a second for installation if you are in Michigan.
  4. Install or ship. Michigan salons and homes get an on-site visit. National customers get the part shipped and a video walk-through.

Why we do not run a catalog

A tanning bed is a 20 to 40 year machine built from parts that changed every few model years. The same bed name can hide three different acrylic sizes, two ballast types and a timer that was swapped mid-production. Online catalogs handle that with a compatibility chart and a return policy. We handle it by looking at your bed first. Hundreds of Michigan salons have used us this way since 1990 because the part that shows up is the part that fits.

Find the model plate

Every bed has a plate with the manufacturer, model, serial number and electrical rating. On lay-down beds, check the end cap of the base, the inside wall of the base near the lamp ends, or the rear edge of the canopy. Stand-up booths usually carry it inside the door frame or low on the back panel. If the plate is gone, a photo of the whole bed, the timer and a lamp end label gets us most of the way there.

Read the lamp code

Each lamp has a code printed near one end. It tells the length and diameter (for example F71 or F73 in a T12 tube), the wattage (commonly 100 watt or 160 watt), and the end type: bi-pin or recessed double contact. The bed's own lamp requirement is usually on the plate or on a label inside the canopy. Those two codes need to match. If they do not, the bed may light but will not perform, and some mismatches damage the ballast. More on this on the lamps page.

Parts we source

Parts by brand

Not on the list? We work on every make and model. Send the request anyway.

Outside Michigan

Salons in states with no local tanning technician use us by video. Book a virtual repair session, show Stan the bed on your phone, and he names the fault and the part. We ship the part and walk you through the install on a follow-up call. Buying a used bed and not sure what it will need? Start with a pre-purchase video inspection.

Request a part

Fill this out and Stan gets back to you, usually the same day, 9 to 6, seven days a week.

A clear photo of the model plate and of the part itself saves a round of questions. Reply to the confirmation email with both.

Rather talk it through

Call with the make, model and what the bed is doing. Stan will tell you what it needs.

Frequently asked questions

Do you sell tanning bed parts online?

Not from a catalog. We source tanning bed parts by request. You tell us the make, the model and the part you need, we confirm it is the right one for that bed, and we quote it. In Michigan we install it. Outside Michigan we ship it after a video session so you know how it goes in.

Can you get parts for a discontinued tanning bed?

Usually, yes. Lamps, starters, ballasts, gas springs and many electrical parts are standard components that fit a wide range of beds. Acrylics and model-specific boards are harder, but we have relationships built over 35 years and we will tell you straight if a part cannot be had.

How do I find my tanning bed model number?

Look for a metal or foil plate with the manufacturer name, model, serial number, voltage and amperage. On most lay-down beds it is on the end of the base, inside the base near the lamps, or on the back edge of the canopy. Stand-up booths usually have it inside the door frame or on the back panel. Have a photo of it ready when you call, or attach it to your reply to our confirmation email.

Will you install the part?

In Michigan, yes. We come to the salon or the home, install it and test the bed at full output. Outside Michigan we ship the part and walk you through the install on a paid video session.

What do I need to send with a parts request?

Your name, phone, city and state, the make and model, and the part you need. A photo of the model plate and a photo of the failed part are the two things that remove guesswork. reply to our confirmation email with the photo.
