SunFire Tanning Bed Parts by Request

Warm glow of tanning lamps inside a closed bed

SunFire is a residential tanning bed line sold with Wolff lamps and built in a range of sizes, from 12 lamp canopies up through 24 and 30 lamp lay-down beds. It is a common bed in Michigan homes, and because the line has run for many years there are plenty of older SunFire units still in service alongside current ones. Sun Systems & Service services all of them. We source SunFire tanning bed parts by request, including for older and discontinued models, and we install in Michigan or ship nationwide after a video session.

SunFire and Sunquest owners call about the same things: lamps past their hours, a lid that drifts down, and a hazed acrylic. All three are routine for us. Send the model plate and we will quote all three if you want.

What SunFire beds are known for

A home bed built like a small salon bed. The lay-down models use standard T12 lamps, conventional ballasts and starters, an in-bed timer and gas springs on the canopy. The smaller models run on a dedicated 120 volt circuit and the larger ones on 220 volt. SunFire canopy units, which mount above a separate bench or massage table, have their own acrylic and support hardware and are a different parts conversation from the full beds. Most SunFire wear parts are standard components. Acrylics and some timers are where the model and year matter.

We service and source parts for SunFire beds

Current residential models and the older units that have changed hands two or three times. Relamps, gas springs and acrylics are the bulk of the requests. We also handle timers that will not start the bed, fans that have stopped and the electrical wear that shows up on a bed that has been moved. If the model is discontinued, we work from the plate, the lamp code and measurements.

Finding the model and serial plate

On SunFire lay-down beds, check the end of the base and the inside wall of the base near the lamp ends after lifting the bench acrylic. On canopy units, look along the rear edge or the underside of the canopy frame. The plate names the model, serial number, voltage and amps. have a photo ready with your request. If the plate is missing, photos of the whole unit, the timer and a lamp end label will identify it.

Common SunFire part requests

  • Lamps. Full relamps as a matched set, with the code confirmed against the bed's own requirement rather than against the model name.
  • Acrylics. Bench and canopy sheets, matched to the model and production year, since dimensions changed across years on many lines.
  • Gas springs. Canopy shocks matched by length, force and fitting. Replaced in pairs.
  • Ballasts. Magnetic and electronic, matched to the lamp class and voltage.
  • Starters. Sized to the lamp wattage, included with every relamp.
  • Timers. In-bed timers, remote timers and control boards.
  • Fans and cooling parts and electrical parts such as contactors, lamp holders and cords.

Michigan and nationwide

In Michigan we come to the salon or the home, install the part and test the bed at full output. We have served hundreds of Michigan salons since 1990 and we are open 7 days, 9 to 6. Outside Michigan, book a virtual repair session: Stan looks at the bed on your phone, names the part, we ship it, and he walks you through the install on a follow-up call. Buying a used bed of this brand? A video inspection before you pay tells you what it will need.

Frequently asked questions

Are SunFire and Sunquest the same bed?

They are related residential lines sold with Wolff lamps and they share a lot of standard components, but they are not interchangeable model for model. Acrylics, timers and some hardware differ. We match parts to the plate on your specific bed, not to the family name.

Can you relamp a SunFire canopy unit?

Yes. SunFire canopies take standard lamps in the size and wattage class marked on the unit, and we confirm the code against the lamps in it now. We also check the acrylic and the support hardware at the same time, since canopies mounted over a bench see a lot of handling.

What if my SunFire model is discontinued?

Most parts are still available because they are standard components. Acrylics and timers are matched from the model plate, serial number and measurements. We tell you up front if a part cannot be had so you can decide whether to repair or replace before spending anything.
