Sunmaster Tanning Bed Parts by Request

Soft light glowing through a tanning bed canopy

Sunmaster is a residential tanning bed brand sold for many years in a range of lamp counts, and it is a frequent bed in Michigan homes. Like the other home lines built around Wolff lamps, Sunmaster beds are conventional lay-down units that age well and change hands often, which means a lot of them reach us as a used purchase that needs lamps, shocks or an acrylic. Sun Systems & Service services all Sunmaster models. We source Sunmaster tanning bed parts by request, including for older and discontinued units, and we install in Michigan or ship nationwide after a video session.

Bought a used Sunmaster? Check the hour meter against the lamp rating before you tan. Most used home beds we see need a relamp and new starters on day one. Send us the plate and we will quote the set.

What Sunmaster beds are known for

Straightforward home beds. Standard T12 lamps, magnetic ballasts with starters, an in-bed timer, a pair of gas springs on the canopy and a bench and canopy acrylic. The smaller models run on a dedicated 120 volt circuit and the larger ones on 220 volt. Because the design is conventional, most Sunmaster wear parts are standard components that match from the lamp code and the plate. The acrylics and some timer panels are the model-specific parts, and the production year matters for those.

We service and source parts for Sunmaster beds

Every Sunmaster model we have come across, current and discontinued. Relamps, starters and gas springs are the most common requests, then acrylics on beds that have hazed. We also fix the electrical issues that come from a bed being moved between homes: a cord that chafed, a lamp holder that cracked, a timer that no longer starts the bed. If the manufacturer no longer supports the model, we work from the plate and measurements and tell you what can and cannot be had.

Finding the model and serial plate

Check the end of the base and the inside wall of the base near the lamp ends after lifting the bench acrylic. Some units carry it on the rear edge of the canopy. The plate names the model, serial number, voltage and amps. have a photo ready with your request. If the plate is missing, photos of the whole bed, the timer and a lamp end label will identify it.

Common Sunmaster part requests

  • Lamps. Full relamps as a matched set, with the code confirmed against the bed's own requirement rather than against the model name.
  • Acrylics. Bench and canopy sheets, matched to the model and production year, since dimensions changed across years on many lines.
  • Gas springs. Canopy shocks matched by length, force and fitting. Replaced in pairs.
  • Ballasts. Magnetic and electronic, matched to the lamp class and voltage.
  • Starters. Sized to the lamp wattage, included with every relamp.
  • Timers. In-bed timers, remote timers and control boards.
  • Fans and cooling parts and electrical parts such as contactors, lamp holders and cords.

Michigan and nationwide

In Michigan we come to the salon or the home, install the part and test the bed at full output. We have served hundreds of Michigan salons since 1990 and we are open 7 days, 9 to 6. Outside Michigan, book a virtual repair session: Stan looks at the bed on your phone, names the part, we ship it, and he walks you through the install on a follow-up call. Buying a used bed of this brand? A video inspection before you pay tells you what it will need.

Frequently asked questions

Can you get gas springs for a Sunmaster bed?

Yes. Measure the extended length, note the end fittings and photograph any printing on the body, and send that with the model plate. We match the length, force and fitting and ship or install the pair. Replace both sides together.

How do I know what lamps my Sunmaster takes?

Read the code printed near the end of a current lamp and check the bed's requirement label on the plate or inside the canopy. Most Sunmaster beds use standard length T12 lamps in the 100 watt class, but confirm against the bed rather than the brand name. Send us both codes and we will confirm the set.

Is it worth repairing an old Sunmaster tanning bed?

Usually, if the frame, ballasts and electrical are sound. Lamps, starters, shocks and even an acrylic are a fraction of a new bed. If the bed needs a model-specific part that cannot be had, we tell you that before you spend anything. Our repair or replace guide walks through the decision.
