Sunquest Tanning Bed Parts by Request

Row of fluorescent tanning lamps glowing inside an open canopy

Sunquest is one of the most common residential tanning bed names in the country. The Sunquest Pro series, sold for years with Wolff lamps and built in several lamp counts, put a salon-style lay-down bed in a lot of American homes, and many of those beds are still running 20 and 25 years later. Sun Systems & Service has worked on Sunquest beds since they were new. We source Sunquest tanning bed parts by request, including for the older and discontinued Pro models, and we install in Michigan or ship nationwide after a video session.

On a Sunquest, the production year matters. The same model name was built over many years with changes to acrylics and other parts along the way. The serial plate gives us the year. have a photo ready of it.

What Sunquest beds are known for

Durability and simplicity. The typical Sunquest Pro is a lay-down bed with standard T12 lamps, magnetic ballasts with starters, an in-bed timer and a pair of gas springs holding the canopy. Smaller models run on a dedicated 120 volt circuit and larger ones on 220 volt. Because the design stayed conventional, most wear parts are standard components that can still be matched today. The model-specific parts are the acrylics, which changed dimensions across production runs, and the timer panels on some years.

We service and source parts for Sunquest beds

Every Sunquest model we have met, from the early Pro series through later residential lines. Relamps are the top request, then gas springs, then acrylics on beds that have hazed or cracked. We also see a lot of Sunquest beds that were bought used and moved, which brings electrical faults from the move: a pinched wire, a loose lamp holder, a timer that will not start the bed.

Finding the model and serial plate

Check the end cap of the base and the inside of the base near the lamp ends after lifting the bench acrylic. Some units carry the plate on the rear edge of the canopy. The plate names the model, serial number, voltage and amps, and the serial number encodes the production run. If the plate is gone, photograph the whole bed, the timer and a lamp end label and we will work from those.

Common Sunquest part requests

  • Lamps. Full relamps as a matched set, with the code confirmed against the bed's own requirement rather than against the model name.
  • Acrylics. Bench and canopy sheets, matched to the model and production year, since dimensions changed across years on many lines.
  • Gas springs. Canopy shocks matched by length, force and fitting. Replaced in pairs.
  • Ballasts. Magnetic and electronic, matched to the lamp class and voltage.
  • Starters. Sized to the lamp wattage, included with every relamp.
  • Timers. In-bed timers, remote timers and control boards.
  • Fans and cooling parts and electrical parts such as contactors, lamp holders and cords.

Michigan and nationwide

In Michigan we come to the salon or the home, install the part and test the bed at full output. We have served hundreds of Michigan salons since 1990 and we are open 7 days, 9 to 6. Outside Michigan, book a virtual repair session: Stan looks at the bed on your phone, names the part, we ship it, and he walks you through the install on a follow-up call. Buying a used bed of this brand? A video inspection before you pay tells you what it will need.

Frequently asked questions

Can you get an acrylic for an old Sunquest Pro?

Usually, yes. Sunquest acrylics changed dimensions across production years, so we need the model plate with the serial number and measurements of the old sheet or the frame opening. With those we match the sheet. Lead time is longer than for a current model and we quote before anything is ordered.

What lamps does a Sunquest tanning bed take?

It depends on the model. Most Sunquest beds use standard length T12 lamps in the 100 watt class with bi-pin ends, but you should confirm against the code printed on your current lamps and the bed's requirement label rather than the model name. Send us both and we will confirm the set.

Do you repair Sunquest beds outside Michigan?

By video, yes. Book a virtual session, show Stan the bed on your phone, and he identifies the fault and the part. We ship it and walk you through the install. Michigan customers get on-site service.
