Tanning Bed Repair
Tanning Bed Repair in Lansing, Michigan

Sun Systems and Service repairs tanning beds in Lansing, East Lansing and the rest of mid-Michigan, on-site, for every make and model. We are based in Metro Detroit, we have served Michigan salons since 1990, and the Lansing area has been on the schedule for most of that time. Call (248) 545-5577 any day from 9 to 6 and you reach the technician, not a directory.
Saginaw Highway to Grand River: mid-Michigan salons on two calendars
Greater Lansing is really four retail strips. West Saginaw Highway, which is M-43, runs through Delta Township past the Lansing Mall area and carries the biggest concentration of plazas on the west side. Grand River Avenue runs east from Michigan State through downtown East Lansing and out to Okemos and the Meridian Mall. Lake Lansing Road near US-127 is the north side strip around Eastwood. South Cedar Street from Jolly Road toward Holt is the south. Downtown Lansing and Michigan Avenue between the Capitol and campus fill in the middle. The city itself spills from Ingham County into Eaton and Clinton counties, and the salons follow.
Two calendars drive demand here. The state workforce keeps the west side and downtown steady all year. Michigan State drives the East Lansing and Okemos salons in waves, before spring break, before graduation and when students come back in late summer. A dead bed in East Lansing in early March is a different problem than a dead bed in July, and we schedule with that in mind.
Scheduling from Metro Detroit, about 90 minutes west
Lansing is about an hour and a half west on I-96. We treat mid-Michigan as its own run, grouping Lansing, East Lansing, Okemos, Delta Township and Holt calls with Jackson and Owosso stops so the truck covers the region in a single day. Phone diagnosis comes first, and whatever it points to rides out with us. The plazas along Saginaw Highway and South Cedar are mostly 1960s through 1980s stock with panels sized for other tenants, and the East Lansing buildings near campus are older still, so we meter the circuit under load before we blame the bed. Our electrical requirements guide covers what to hand your electrician.
Bed down today? Start with a video session
Ninety minutes is far enough that you do not want to wait for the next mid-Michigan run when a bed is dark the week before spring break. Book a video session with Stan now. He walks through the bed with you on your phone, you know the same day what failed and which part fixes it, and if it needs the truck, the truck follows.
What we fix
- Bed will not turn on or will not start: power, timers, door and safety switches, control boards. Start with our troubleshooting checklist.
- Lamps dim, flickering or dead: lamp, starter or ballast, metered rather than guessed.
- Breaker tripping and electrical faults, including beds on shared or undersized circuits.
- Overheating and shutdowns: fans, filters, ventilation and cooling.
- Timers and controls that drift, stick or fail.
- Lid shocks, hinges and struts on canopies that will not stay up.
- Acrylics that are cracked, hazed or yellowed.
- Relamping as a full set with the right lamps. See how often to relamp.
- Hybrid and red light beds: same electrical fundamentals, same tech. See red light equipment.

How a service call works
- Call (248) 545-5577. Make, model, what it is doing and where in the Lansing area you are.
- Phone or video diagnosis. If it is a breaker, a timer setting or a door switch, we will tell you.
- Scheduled visit on the mid-Michigan run, with the common parts for your bed on the truck.
- Quote before work begins. One number. Our repair cost guide explains what drives it.
- Repair, test at full output, and a maintenance plan timed so East Lansing relamps happen before the campus rush. See our preventive maintenance guide.

Call (248) 545-5577Frequently asked questions
How does a Lansing service call work from Metro Detroit?
Lansing is about an hour and a half west on I-96. We schedule mid-Michigan as its own run, grouping Lansing, East Lansing, Okemos and Delta Township calls with Jackson and Owosso stops so the truck covers the region in a day. Call (248) 545-5577, we diagnose by phone first, and the common parts for your bed ride out with us.
Do you cover East Lansing, Okemos, Holt and Grand Ledge?
Yes. The Grand River corridor through East Lansing and Okemos, the Saginaw Highway strip in Delta Township, Lake Lansing Road, South Cedar toward Holt and Mason, plus Haslett, DeWitt, Grand Ledge and Williamston all ride the same mid-Michigan run.
A bed is down the week before spring break. What is the fastest way to get help in Lansing?
Book a video session with Stan. You show him the bed on your phone, he walks through it with you, and you know the same day what failed and which part fixes it. If you can handle the fix yourself, you are back up without waiting for the truck. If it needs the truck, the truck follows, and the session is credited toward the on-site visit.
Do you also serve Jackson?
Yes. Jackson is about 35 miles south of Lansing on US-127 and is scheduled on the same mid-Michigan run, along with Charlotte and Owosso. Call with your city and we will tell you when the next run is going through.
